Bournemouth are prepared to part ways with midfielder Alex Scott during the upcoming January transfer window.

The former Bristol City midfielder's future was the subject of intense speculation last summer after he rejected two successive contract renewal offers. Despite strong interest and bids from Chelsea, the Cherries' hierarchy stood firm and retained their young talent. However, the prospect of an exit has now returned to the fore.

According to BBC Sport, Bournemouth are open to negotiations in January should they receive an offer in the region of £100 million. Chelsea continue to monitor the midfielder closely, while Liverpool are also keeping tabs on developments. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham expressed interest in the summer before shifting their priorities elsewhere. The presence of his former manager Andoni Iraola at Anfield could potentially give the Merseyside club an edge in the race for his signature.

The only major caveat surrounding a potential mid-season move remains Bournemouth's Premier League standing. Should the team find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle near the foot of the table, club chiefs will likely prefer to keep Scott until the end of the campaign to secure top-flight safety before reassessing their position in the summer.

The 23-year-old midfielder made the switch to Bournemouth in 2023 and has since registered seven goals in 95 appearances across all competitions. He is currently sidelined with a thigh muscle injury sustained during international duty with England.

Scott is under contract with Bournemouth until the summer of 2028. Any potential sale would continue the club's recent trend of generating substantial revenue from outgoings. Last term saw the departures of Antoine Semenyo, Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Dango Ouattara, following Dominic Solanke's big-money switch to Tottenham 12 months earlier.
