Drink charitably event to eradicate illiteracy from Nigeria maiden edition
LIFE could have come to a beautiful standstill yesterday as the ‘Drink Charitably’ event held for the first time; bringing together a beautiful mix of people from diverse walks of life to support the vision of one organization to bridge the large gulf in Nigeria’s literacy and educational system.
The monthly charity fundraiser event which held at the Lotus Pattaya, Bar - Lounge was organized by the Literacy Integration and Formal Education (LIFE) Foundation and attended by dignitaries from the Italian diplomatic community, the French community, legal practitioners, Executive Directors of financial institutions and representatives of multinational corporations who graced the event to lend their support to the Vision.
Also present was the Matriarch of the Joe-Adigwe family and mother of the founder and president of LIFE, Chief Barr Mrs Bernadette Joe-Adigwe, Mrs Obiageli Ajaero, founder and executive director of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) - Chioma Ude amongst many others.
Drinks were sold at a premium and the proceeds from every drink sold goes towards funding ongoing literacy projects at Makoko, a slum in Lagos State.
Literacy Integration and Formal Education Foundation is an NGO dedicated to the service of Orphaned and Vulnerable children and driven by a vision to eradicate the menace of illiteracy from Nigeria.
