The New Zealand driver for Racing Bulls headed into the final hour of running at Sepang with a fresh internal combustion engine, turbocharger, exhaust system, and auxiliary components. As all parts remain within his permitted seasonal allocation, Lawson avoids any penalties this weekend.

Meanwhile, his teammate Arvid Lindblad faces a 30-place grid drop, while Red Bull's Isack Hadjar and Alpine's Franco Colapinto have been handed 5- and 15-place penalties respectively. In Colapinto's case, five of those positions stem from the sanction he received after triggering a collision in Baku a week ago.
