Lewis Hamilton has dismissed claims by Italian media outlets suggesting he demanded Ferrari replace several key trackside personnel.
While Corriere della Sera didn't specify which team members the Ferrari driver allegedly wanted removed, the publication noted Hamilton's reported frustration with recent race performances. For instance, during the Dutch Grand Prix, Hamilton voiced his displeasure over the team leaving him behind teammate Charles Leclerc for too long in the pursuit of a podium finish.
Subsequently, at Monza, the seven-time world champion was reportedly unhappy with a clash involving Leclerc on the first lap, stating it was up to team principal Fred Vasseur to manage the situation. Corriere della Sera even claimed that Hamilton's relationship with Vasseur, with whom he won the GP2 title in 2006, had become strained – allegations the Briton has since denied.
"I've seen some of the stories circulating and I want to set the record straight here. I have never asked for anyone in my team to be replaced. Everyone I work with puts in hard work every day, and their dedication is what drives us forward. I always try to empower and uplift people to be the best versions of themselves, or at least to see the best in themselves. I may not always succeed, but that is my intention and why I am here. We all work together, and that will continue," Hamilton wrote on social media.
