The first half ended goalless, with neither side able to find a way through the opposition's defence.

Deportivo broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute courtesy of fine individual work from Yeremay Hernandez. He drove through the middle and saw his effort blocked, but the loose ball fell kindly to Bil Nsongo, who slotted home from close range.

Levante fought back to level the score eight minutes from time. In the 82nd minute, Petar Ratkov kept the ball in play near the byline and cut it back for Dani Requena to make it 1-1.

Deportivo had a golden opportunity to snatch victory in the 88th minute when Jonathan Asp Jensen controlled a pass inside the penalty area, only to see his strike rattle off the crossbar.
