Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun is now an adidas athlete after signing a kit deal with the sportswear giant.

Balogun who plays in the Bundesliga with Mainz took to his Instagram page to announce the deal with photos of some adidas footwear.

"Welcome to the family - thanks for the little gift," he wrote on Iinstagram while posting photos of the some of his sneakers.

Leon Balogun previously had stints with Hannover 96, Werder Bremen and Fortuna Dusseldorf.

He had his Super Eagles debut in the 2004 international friendly against Mexico and has become a regular since then.

He made the 18-man list of foreign based players that Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh invited for next month's 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania.

The 27-year-old posted a photo of himself and other Germany-based Super Eagles players about to board a flight to Nigeria for national team duties.
