Charles Leclerc finished second in the Singapore Grand Prix after attempting an early move for the lead right at the start, though Max Verstappen defended aggressively to keep top spot.

"We were quite strong at the start of the race, but towards the end of the first stint, the tyres began to degrade. We opted for a slightly different strategy during the Safety Car," Leclerc explained. "I believed it could work, but I pushed the tyres harder at the start of the final stint, which meant they degraded quicker."
"At least we tried; I gave it everything, and I have no regrets. Perhaps I could have been a bit more aggressive off the line today, but that's about it."
"We will fight right until the very end of the season, and we will keep bringing upgrades for the car until the end of the campaign. Overall, I think our pace was strong today."
