It took Lance Stroll 16 attempts to complete a full race distance in Formula 1 in 2026, but the Canadian has finally managed to do so.
He achieved the feat at the Bahrain Grand Prix held in Malaysia. The Aston Martin driver completed all 55 laps at Sepang, which was shortened by one lap following an additional formation lap at the start, marking the first time this season he has run every lap of a race.
Beyond completing a full race distance for the first time this year, Stroll also brought an end to a streak of consecutive retirements. The Canadian had failed to see the chequered flag in his previous four outings in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Azerbaijan, with his last classified finish coming in Hungary before the summer break, where he crossed the line a lap down.
Stroll was unable to secure his first championship point of the season, however, coming home 12th at Sepang. Meanwhile, team-mate Fernando Alonso finished inside the points for the third time this year in eighth place, delivering Aston Martin's best result of the season to date.
