La Liga President Takes Aim at Real Madrid Again Following Matchday Win

La Liga president Javier Tebas has continued his verbal assault on Real Madrid after Los Blancos supporters displayed a provocative banner during their clash with Sevilla. The banner read: "This is not football, this is Tebas and Negreira." The Spanish league chief was quick to respond, using the incident to back up his previous criticism of the Madrid club's communication strategy.

"It took just two days for the facts to prove me right," Tebas posted on social media. He recalled previously singling out journalist Tomas Gonzalez-Martin from El Debate as the mouthpiece for Real Madrid's hierarchy. The club countered by stating they are not responsible for the opinions of journalists who are not part of the organization.

Tebas, however, questioned that distinction after Madrid fans unfurled the banner linking his name to the Negreira case. "Are they now going to explain this away as the opinion of someone who has nothing to do with the club?" the La Liga president asked rhetorically. He once again demanded that the Madrid club publish their requests for kickoff time changes and show which ones have been granted.

Tensions between Tebas and Real Madrid escalated after the La Liga chief compared the way club channel Real Madrid TV criticizes refereeing to the propaganda tactics of Nazi minister Joseph Goebbels. Real Madrid condemned his remarks as unacceptable and called for his immediate resignation.
