What happened
Los Blancos squeezed past El Glorioso 1-0 to keep pace with Barcelona in the LALIGA title race, and they had to do it in difficult conditions.
Eduardo Camavinga gave Los Blancos the lead in the 34th minute, and four minutes later, the visitors were reduced to 10 men after Mbappe’s leg-breaker tackle on Antonio Blanco.
The tackle was horrific as Mbappe's foot was high and connected with Blanco’s shin with his studs. Given the distance from the ball, many have speculated that the France international went into the tackle with malice.
Mbappe apologises
According to AS, Mbappe has apologised to his teammates for complicating the game for them and gave no excuses.
Also, the victim of his reckless challenge, Blanco, revealed that the French star has apologised to him. "It was a strong tackle. I spoke with Kylian; he apologized and there is no problem, these are actions that can happen in football,” Blanco said.
