Online retailer, Konga, is hosting a mega sale from May 28 through to the first of June, and it promises major discounts.
However, the online store will be shutting down its desktop website for five days, and will only sell through its mobile app throughout the duration of the sale.
This may not just be a marketing push, because Konga seems to be attempting to experiment on the concept of mobile first.
And it’s not unheard of too, in April, FlipKart tried to run a similar experiment, and already promised to go mobile-only by 2016.
Konga says it will be discounting prices by up to 75 percent. Online retail websites have been famously known to crash during these sales from excessive customer load trying to cash in on the bargain all at the same time.
However the experiment goes, it is very unlikely that Konga will be permanently restricting buyer access to just its app any time in the near future.
