Rajon Rondo may wear a Dallas Mavericks uniform for the remainder of this season, but Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant still wants him in purple and gold next year.
Bryant and Rondo have a well-documented relationship and were seen having lunch together in Boston when the Lakers made a road trip to play the Celtics in December.
Rondo was traded to Dallas later in the month.
The Mavericks expect to re-sign Rondo after his contract expires at the end of the season, but owner Mark Cuban will have to compete with Bryant"s recruiting efforts.
"No way," Bryant told the Boston Herald when asked if he was done pursuing Rondo. "I'm not done. I'm not stopping until he signs an extension."
The two All-Stars have faced off in the NBA Finals twice, with each player winning one title against the other.
