It happens to the best if us, and then we panic. Sometimes the meal ends up in the thrash can because it is simply not palatable.

Here is a simple trick that takes care of this cooking disaster:

All you need to do is wash and peel off the skin of a potato. Then cut the potato into two pieces and add to the over-salted food.

The potatoes should remain in the food for about 10 minutes after which it should have absorbed the excess salt from the food.

Alternatively, you can add a little sugar to the food. While this will not reduce the salt in the food, it will balance out the sodium.
