Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez expressed his satisfaction at the prospect of working once again with his former manager Andoni Iraola, who has taken the helm at Liverpool. The Spanish tactician has joined the Merseyside club.

Kerkez and Iraola spent two seasons together at Bournemouth, where the left-back established himself as a key player under the Basque coach's guidance. The Hungarian believes Iraola's playing style will perfectly suit his new team.

"I'm thrilled that he and his staff are here because we achieved success together at Bournemouth. I was delighted when I heard about his arrival. I know him well, and he knows me, so he understands what I can offer to his playing style. He demands a lot of energy and will be a perfect fit for Liverpool. I believe good times are ahead for us," Kerkez stated on Liverpool's official website.

The defender described Iraola as a straightforward and demanding coach whose mentality will bring positive results to Anfield.

"Andoni is a good, direct person. He tells you what he wants to see, and the rest is up to you. If you don't do it, you don't play. It's that simple. He's not the most talkative, but he's emotional, which you can see on the touchline. He's from Bilbao, and we all know the mentality of people from there. I'm sure he's the perfect manager for Liverpool," the Hungarian international added.

Kerkez, who was named in the Premier League's Team of the Season in his final year with Bournemouth, largely credits Iraola and his staff for his development.

"He helped my development immensely. In the first year, we did a lot of video analysis with his assistants. The second year was stronger because I had already adapted. Andoni loves direct football, and that's perfect not only for me but for the rest of the team," the defender commented.

Kerkez spoke to the club's television channel during the second day of Liverpool's pre-season training, expressing his eagerness for the new season to begin.

"I'm glad to be back. The holiday was too long, to be honest. I missed training, but I managed to see my family. Now it's time to get back in shape. We're all full of positive energy and fully focused on the new season," he concluded.
