Despite playing for Hungary at the youth level, SC Heerenveen defender, Kenneth Otigba has declared his allegiance to Nigeria.
The defender who was born in Kaduna, Nigeria in 1992 started his football career in Hungary and has since represented the central European country.
Speaking to , the defender revealed that he dreams to done day don the gree and while jersey of Nigeria.
"In my career I always have goals that I set myself: I planned to play in the Heerenveen first team, I hope to play in the English Premier League one day and I will do anything to wear even for one match the green jersey of the Super Eagles," he said.
Kenneth Otigba, a centre back, made his debut for SC Heerenveen in 2012 after joing the club when he was just 14 and his profile has gradually risen since.
The further stated that he has since turned down an invitation to play for Hungary's senior national team with his heart firmly set on Nigeria.
"I got a letter of invitation for a full cap for Hungary but I knew within my heart that I was not going to be happy playing for Hungary. I spoke to my mum, my other family members and my agent about this. All of them told me to follow my heart. My heart is for the Super Eagles of Nigeria," he revealed.
With the dearth of god defenders available for Nigeria, this should be great news for the Super Eagles.
