Having been sent out four times on loan, the defender is currently at Turkish club Alanyaspor.

Although he is hopeful of getting his chance at Chelsea, Omeruo is not making his priority.

“It might happen you know how frustrating sometimes it is to always go out on loan. You know when it is the right time, it’s the right time,” the 23-year-old defender said in an interview on BBC World Service.

“The important thing is to take the opportunity when you have it. But that’s not my priority because for me it is to play at the top.”

For Omeruo, playing regularly is the most important thing for him and he is targeting a move to a top European league next season.

“I’m looking for a place to play regularly,” he added.

“Last season I had the opportunity to go to one of the biggest clubs in Turkey, the deal fell apart two days to the transfer window and I was lucky I could find a place I could still play and they want me to play so.

“Next season will be interesting because I’m looking to be in one of the top leagues.”
