West Ham have tabled a bid for Iheanacho who is expected to leave Manchester City this season after seeing game time hard to come.
West Ham are hoping to sign the Manchester City’s £20million-rated striker who has also attracted the interest of Everton, Leicester City and some German clubs.
Manchester City are however not ready to give up on Iheanacho who has impressed since joining the club in 2014.
City are keen to keep monitoring Iheanacho if he leaves the club and will be ready to splash the cash to bring him back.
West Ham are will be looking to get double the fee they will pay for Iheanacho but City will want it to be closer to the £30m mark or less.
Meanwhile, Iheanacho is ignoring all the talks of a transfer this summer, insisting that he is still a Manchester City player.
“I'm not very aware of that,” the 20-year-old striker told reporters when he was asked about the reports.
“I just keep working with the team and I'm still at Manchester City so I'll meet up with the boys and kick off the season with Manchester City.
“I'm happy to stay at Manchester City and keep fighting to help them achieve what they want to achieve. Manchester City is a big team and we need to go far as a squad, so we need everybody.”
