Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has signed a new four-year contract extension worth £8.5 million a year.

The London Evening Standard reports that the deal will be made public before the start of the season.

While returning for his second spell in Chelsea, Mourinho expressed his willingness to spend more time at Chelsea and owner Roman Abramovich have rewarded him with a new four-year-old contract undefinedthe English Premier League title last season.

Mourinho also won the League Cup last season.

Mourinho returned to Chelsea for a second spell in the summer of 2013 after three years at Real Madrid, and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League losing to Atletico Madrid, but ended his first season back at the club without a trophy.

Assistants Rui Faria and Silvinho Louro have also been handed new contracts.

Mourinho will welcome his men back for pre-season on Tuesday as they aim to defend their EPL  title newxt season.

Chelsea will go on a tour of the United States on US that begins on Wednesday, July 15.
