Back in Portugal following away victories in Norway (2-1) and Denmark (4-2), Jorge Jesus took to social media on the eve of their Nations League rematch against Norway, set for Sunday at 19:45 at the Estádio do Dragão.

"Pre-match training sessions are crucial for consolidating our processes and preparing for decisive moments. We are fully focused on the main objective! See you at the Dragão!" wrote the national team manager, who has found himself at the centre of a storm after Cristiano Ronaldo walked out of the Portugal camp in Copenhagen.

The fallout from the rift between Jorge Jesus and Cristiano Ronaldo has spilled from the dressing room into the public eye, triggering banner protests on the streets of Lisbon and Porto, as well as a tense atmosphere upon the team's arrival in the northern city.

Jorge Jesus has already given the green light for an emergency meeting to clear the air with Cristiano Ronaldo, accepting mediation proposed by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The ball is now in CR7's court, with the FPF still awaiting his response.
