Jorge Jesus addressed his relationship with the supporters and his post-match celebrations in front of the stands following Portugal's victory in Denmark, insisting that this close connection with fans is nothing new in his career. The national team boss even looked back on his time at Al Nassr, where he used to celebrate alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

"If you look at my managerial career with other teams, I did the exact same thing. At Al Nassr, I did the same whenever we won. I even played the drum with Cristiano," Jesus recalled during his press conference.

"My connection with the fans is total, but Portugal is different," he stated, while also expressing his satisfaction with the team's response on the pitch following a week filled with controversy. "I think you [journalists] are delighted that Portugal showcased real quality—a team playing with maturity, bold ideas, and the belief to execute them during the match."

"That is the life of a manager. Only one thing guarantees you anything: it's called winning. Victory. That's a manager's life."

Asked whether he feels the country is on his side, Jesus admitted he was not certain, but made no secret of his desire to earn their backing: "Who knows if I have the country behind me? I don't know, but I would certainly like them to be."
