Former Super Eagles midfielder tips England coach, Sam Allardyce for success
Former Nigeria international
Okocha played under Allardyce at Bolton Wanderers during a four-year spell and believes that the manager will be successful with England.
Reacting to Allardyce's appointment as new coach of England national team, Okocha called his former manager ‘an ambitious coach who wants to succeed everywhere he goes’.
"He is very specific in his details, there is nowhere for you to hide. He will show you everything in terms of stats and I think he prepares his players in the best possible way,”Okocha told Sky Sports.
"Some people might criticise him for being a bit direct but you also have to think of the players he has got to work with.
"I never thought I would be able to play for him because he is too direct but he managed to find a way to accommodate me.
"The great thing about it is it his dream job and he has the desire to succeed, so I think he will definitely do well.”
