After being penalised with a grade one flagrant foul during the third quarter on Sunday, Houston's Harden had his kick upgraded to a grade two charge by the league, which resulted in a one-game ban.

Harden, who leads the league in points per game this season, was double-teamed by Cavaliers pair James and James Jones, and as he fell to the ground, he jabbed his left foot into the Cleveland star's lower abdominal region.

'Harden will serve his suspension tomorrow [on Tuesday] when the Rockets travel to Atlanta to play the Hawks,' a statement on the league's website read.

The Rockets went on to win 105-103 in overtime on Sunday, with Harden scoring 33 points, while James managed 37 for the Cavaliers.
