Jaissle Stays Silent on Manchester City and Delivers Newcastle Injury Boost

Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle has revealed that three or four players are set to return from injury for Monday night's trip to Coventry. The Magpies were depleted with nine players missing in their clash against Hull City, their final outing prior to the international break. Dan Burn, Amar Dedic, Anthony Elanga, Nico Gonzalez, Ewen Jaouen, Joelinton, William Osula, Jacob Ramsey, and Tino Livramento all sat out that fixture, but several are now in line to rejoin the squad.

"Not everyone is back. For now, three or four players are ready to be involved in the matchday squad," Jaissle said. "You already saw Joelinton last week—he had some involvement then and is continuing to make progress and improve. Others are certainly returning, which gives us a boost, but we need to manage their workload sensibly."

The German manager also refused to be drawn into commenting on the ongoing situation regarding Manchester City.

"As a manager of another club, it's not for me to judge. That is not my job, nor is it within my remit. The relevant authorities are handling it, and there is a clear process in place. For us—and I speak on behalf of the entire club—the right approach is to focus on what we can control. Ultimately, it comes down to my work and what is in our hands ahead of Monday's match against Coventry."
