Italy Anticipates Antonelli's World Title and Hopes for Future Ferrari Switch

Following the Singapore Grand Prix, the Italian media declared that Andrea Kimi Antonelli's first world championship is now only a matter of time. The young Mercedes ace delivered another standout performance, while his closest rival and teammate George Russell fell behind. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen's victory and Red Bull's resurgence are widely seen as posing no real threat to Antonelli's march to the title.

"Antonelli was exceptional, handling the pressure throughout the entire weekend and not putting a foot wrong in the brutal heat and humidity," wrote Leo Turrini, one of Italy's most prominent Formula 1 journalists. "What impressed me most was his sharp racing instincts and the way he capitalized the moment Lando Norris momentarily lost focus when Lewis Hamilton went off track. That overtake by Antonelli was a true masterpiece."
"Kimi fully deserves the world title. He has thoroughly outclassed his teammate George Russell in identical machinery. I don't know when the official celebrations for Antonelli's championship will begin, but we all owe him our gratitude. And I hope the day comes when we see him behind the wheel of a Ferrari."
"Ferrari's British driver, Lewis Hamilton, made far too many errors in Singapore, though credit to him for admitting it. Charles Leclerc is in fine form, but at Marina Bay, Ferrari simply lacked the pace to challenge Max Verstappen. He remains the standout driver on the grid, without a doubt, even if Max is not in the title fight."
"Moreover, nothing remains of the once-dominant Mercedes, while Red Bull have rebounded and moved ahead of Ferrari. In an ironic twist, Red Bull have proven they can turn their fortunes around mid-season, whereas Ferrari continue to struggle, unable to reverse their downward trajectory in Maranello."
