Islamic terror group among top googled items in 2014

After the terror unleashed by men of the Islamic State of Iraq And Syria it seems the world wanted to know more about the insurgent group.

In the trends released by Google’s top charts of 2014, ISIS turned out to be the eighth most Google searches in the world. In the news category, the ISIS was once again one of the top Google searches in 2014 as it was the second most searched global news item in 2014.

In the Nigerian charts, the ISIS also turns out to be the second most googled question in the “What is” category.

Another Islamlic terror group was prominent in the Nigerian search charts.

“Who is Shekau” and “who is Boko Haram” is the third and fifth most searched “who is” question on Nigerian Google.
