The proposal day is arguably one of the most thought about days in a girl's life (after her wedding day, of course). Many have dreamt of it, fantasized about it even. 'How will I react? Should I scream? Should I cry?' are some of the errant thoughts that girls have when they start to notice suspicious behaviour from their boyfriends.
Recently, Nigerian comedian and MC, Elenu proposed to his girlfriend. He took her out to dinner with close friends and colleagues and when her meal arrived, the words «Will you marry me?» was written in sauce all over the plate. Cute yeah? The manner of a guy's proposal has become important and luckily guys these days are showing their creativity when it comes to proposals. Guys who understand the memorability of the proposal day would go the whole nine yards to make it worth her while others who have no inkling would drop it on you. Whilst talking about this with a friend, I got a story the most embarrassing proposal ever. It goes thus:
A guy and his girlfriend were talking over drinks and he said,«We should get married?». A little miffed by the manner of the proposal, she asked for sometime to think about the proposal. The guy then goes, «Look woman I don't have all day. You're either in or out». Some might consider this kind of proposal rather harsh, preferring the gentle wooing of gifts, flowers or even a serene dinner. Others would prefer a convention where everyone watches the proposal. Most ladies would say that it doesn't matter so far you know that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
Either ways there are three ways it can happen: a quite question from the man, a loud flashmob or convention and finally the regular and expected dinner date. If you are not yet married, what would you like your proposal to be like, regular, loud or intimate and creative???
