Inter Milan and Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Curtis Jones. According to Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is valued at €35 million. This sum includes bonuses, which Nicolò Schira reports to be around €5 million.
The Italian champions have been pursuing Jones since the start of the summer, with reports indicating that the Merseyside club rejected their initial two offers from San Siro, valued at €25 million and €32 million respectively. It was initially suggested that the English club sought over €40 million for the midfielder, but ultimately, Anfield lowered their demands.
Jones himself, whose contract with Liverpool was set to expire next summer, pushed for this transfer. He is expected to sign a contract with the Nerazzurri until 2031.
The Englishman is a product of Liverpool's academy and has only ever played for the Reds. He departs with 228 appearances and 22 goals for the first team.
