Dancehall act Shank previews new album at Spice Route

The highly talented music act also performs the hits from his colourful, and start-stop music career.

Shank, who is regarded as one of the most authentic performers of dancehall music in Nigeria, yesterday headlined the weekly Industry Nite held at Spice Route.

The dancehall act who cracked into the music scene in 2008 with his classic single 'Julie' was given a warm reception by the crowd at Spice Route.

Shank who just released a new video 'Passi Passi' on February 19, 2015, started his performance with his 2010 hit track 'Ghetto'. The artiste who is now signed to ill Tune Records performed the popular single with a live band and a deejay.

The stirring performance brought the venue to life. He followed his performance with another popular track of his 'Salute', a song he released when he was signed to Storm Records.

After this performance, Shank went on to give us a preview of his anticipated second album. He performed a few tracks off the album. The songs were impressive, ranging from Hip Hop, soul music and Trap.

During his set he brought on stage the lovely singer Annette Cookey who participated in the first season of MTN Project Fame, and the pop act Flowssickk who scored the 2011 hit 'Low Key'.

The rejuvenated Shank ended his performance with 'Julie', and 'Passi Passi'.

Shank's edition of Industry Nite witnessed a change of personnel. Loopy Records act DJ Lambo came in for DJ Spinall, and Sensei Uche replaced Jimmie as the host for the night.
