According to Mr Thomas Thwaites, living like a goat for three days was fulfilling when he needed a break from dealing with the rigours of humanity.

The British researcher who designed prosthetic limbs which allowed him to walk on all fours and graze with goats on a farm in the Alps was one of those who bagged the Nobel Ig Prize for unusual or trivial achievements in scientific research.

With his book, "GoatMan: How I Took A Holiday From Being Human," Mr Thwaites encapsulated his experiences in those three days living as a goat.

Wearing his prosthetic limbs at the annual awards, Mt Thwaites said the award was a "huge honour" while collecting the award at a ceremony which took place at Harvard University in the US.

"I got tired of all the worry and the pain of being a human and so I decided I would take a holiday from it all and become a goat," he said.

The Ig Nobel Prizes is one of the strangest of its kind, honouring achievements that make people laugh, and then think. The prizes are meant to celebrate the unusual, as well as honor the imaginative.
