The Executive Secretary of the agency, Mr Sanusi Kwatarkwashi, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau.

Kwatarkwashi said that the flood, which destroyed a school building in the town, resulted from the Sunday downpour in the area.

According to him, most of the houses affected in the area were built along the waterways.

The executive secretary told NAN that the erection of such structures was against the town planning rules and regulations of the state.
