Using the data of over 6,000 homosexual couples to a larger population of heterosexual couples, who got married between 1996 and 2009, the study which was titled “” revealed that homosexual couples are 2.7 times likely to commit suicide.

Male homosexual couples were found to have a higher chance than homosexual women.

"Even in a country with a comparatively tolerant climate regarding homosexuality such as Sweden, same-sex married individuals evidence a higher risk for suicide than other married individuals," says an author from Life Site News.

Similar researches have been done in other European nations including Netherlands, which indicated a relationship between homosexual behaviour and a variety of negative psychological outcomes.
