Court remands student for raping 9 year-old girl

An Ilorin Magistrates' Court on Wednesday ordered a student, Oyetunde Ishola, to be remanded in prison for allegedly raping a nine year-old girl.

The Prosecutor, Mr Ajide Kehinde, told the court that the accused person lured the girl into his room and had her canal knowledge.

The prosecutor said that the accused was charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Rape, Contrary to Sections 97 and 282 of the Penal Code Law.

He objected to the bail of the accused on the ground that the alleged offence was not bailable.

The accused however pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate, Foluke Olokoyo, acceded to the submission of the prosecutor and ordered that the accused be remanded at Okekura Prison Yard, Ilorin.

She adjourned the case to Oct. 8, for further mention.
