Shilling firm, could weaken on end-month uptick in demand

At 0735 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 101.30/50 to the dollar, the same level as Friday's close.

The Kenyan shilling was firm against the dollar on Monday amid expectations of a likely end-month pick up in demand from importers that could trigger some depreciation pressure on the local currency.
