Their bodies were found after they had disappeared mysteriously, close to a beer parlour in Awaka community, Vanguard reports.

How they were found remains unclear but it was gathered that the parents of the children had declared them missing earlier.

A villager, who chose to remain anonymous said:

“When the tarpaulin used in covering the vehicle was removed, the bodies of the two children were found.”

The owner of the parked vehicle lives outside Nigeria. I do not even remember when the owner of the vehicle last visited home. As at the day the sad incident was discovered, the vehicle owner was not at home.”

Answering a question, the villager affirmed that the police had already stepped into the matter, adding that “in the usual police fashion, they would critically probe all leads with a view to getting to the roots of the matter.”

When the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Andrew Enwerem, a deputy superintendent of police, was contacted, he said:

“As at the time of your inquiry, no such information has reached my table. It may come later, but for now, I have not received any such signal.”
