Prominent among those attending this rally is Major General Leo Irabor, who is the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole.

Others are military officials, government officials, religious leaders, traditional heads, student groups, traders and residents.

The rally is holding at Ramat Square, Maiduguri.

Last year, the Nigerian military sacked terrorist sect, Boko Haram from its Camp Zero stronghold in Sambisa Forest.

The terrorists have however continued to mount soft-target attacks in the war ravaged Northeast region of Nigeria.
