12 persons reported dead in flooding incident

Twelve persons have been reported dead following a flooding incident that occurred in the Ganjuwa and Giade Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.

Musa Ladan, Deputy Director, Needs Assessment of the State Emergency Management Agency, revealed this on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
According to Ladan, four children are included in the record of casualties after slipping into a culvert.

“The flood killed four children who went out in the rain to wash their bodies. Unfortunately for them on their way home, they stepped on a culvert which caved in and the flood took them away.”

A 65-year-old man named Alhaji Danladi, was also among the people who lost their lives after his house collapsed due to heavy wind.
