China, Japan and South Korea to hold summit
South Korean President Geun-hye said last week she hoped the three-way summit would help clear obstacles to better relations with Tokyo and boost stability in Northeast Asia.

China, Japan and South Korea will hold a summit in South Korea when Chinese Premier Li Keqiang vists the country from Oct. 31-Nov. 2, China's Foreign Ministry said on Monday, the first leaders' meeting since May 2012.

Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, speaking at a daily news briefing, did not provide an exact date for the summit, but Japanese media have said it would be on Nov. 1 in Seoul.
South Korean President Geun-hye said last week she hoped the three-way summit would help clear obstacles to better relations with Tokyo and boost stability in Northeast Asia.
Both China and South Korea's ties with Japan have been strained over their wartime history.
