Government bans public viewing centres following bomb blast

The government further urged members of the public to avoid crowded places and report suspicious persons to security agents.

The Adamawa State Government has placed a ban on public viewing centres in the state due to the recent bomb blast in Yola, the state capital.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the police spokesperson in the state, Othman Abubakar.

Abubakar said that ban was made necessary by the “unfortunate recent bomb blast in Yola” adding that the order was issued by Governor Muhammadu Jibrillah.

The blast, which was Yola’s first, occurred on Thursday, June 4, and left 32 people dead.
