The move comes after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to vacate the office.

Ogah received the certificate today, June 30, 2016, INEC’s Director of Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzi has confirmed.

Ikpeazu was ousted after it was discovered that he submitted fake tax returns during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in the state.

Ogah came second to Ikpeazu during the primaries.

The judge also ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear Ogah in immediately, but according to Sahara Reporters, the chief judge has gone into hiding.

Ikpeazu has appealed the ruling and also applied for a stay of execution.
