Brentford striker Igor Thiago, who recently made his national team debut, has become the first Brazilian to score 20 goals in a single Premier League season. The former Ludogorets top scorer found the net in just the third minute of the match against Everton, converting a penalty. Thiago now surpasses Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Martinelli, and Matheus Cunha, all of whom had a maximum of 15 goals in a single Premier League campaign.
Igor Thiago also became only the third player in Brentford's history to reach the 20-goal mark in a single English top-flight season. The other two are Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo.
Another interesting fact is that Thiago has taken 10 penalties for Brentford since the start of the season, successfully converting nine of them.
In the overall scoring charts for the current season, Igor Thiago is currently two goals behind Erling Haaland.
