Hull City and Everton played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in round six of the Premier League, with all four goals coming after the break. Joe Gelhardt broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 48th minute, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised shortly after. Thierno Barry then put the Toffees ahead in the 68th minute, only for Mohamed Belloumi to level the score once again in the 74th minute.
Both sides traded chances in the early stages, with James Garner testing Konstantinos Tzolakis before Gelhardt forced a sharp save from Jordan Pickford at the other end. The visitors enjoyed the lion's share of possession, while the Tigers set up defensively to catch Everton on the break. The breakthrough almost arrived in the 34th minute when Brennan Johnson intercepted a clearance inside a crowded box and saw the ball find the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.
The hosts opened the scoring early in the second half after a costly blunder from Ainsley Maitland-Niles allowed Gelhardt to drive forward and finish clinically. Everton took just five minutes to respond, keeping the pressure on after a corner before Dewsbury-Hall headed home from a recycled cross. Barry completed the turnaround for David Moyes' men in the 68th minute, capitalising after the former Leicester midfielder made a superb interception in the final third. However, the parity lasted just six minutes as another Hull break down the left exposed Maitland-Niles once more, leading to a square pass that Belloumi slotted home to seal the point.
The result leaves Everton fifth in the table with two wins and four draws, keeping their unbeaten record intact. Hull also continued their promising start to life back in the Premier League, taking their points tally to nine.
