Komatsu highlighted the Brazilian's performances during his rookie Formula 2 campaign, where he currently leads the standings by seven points over Nikola Tsolov with two rounds remaining. The Japanese team boss also emphasized how taken he was by Camara's display during a previous car test at Portimao in Portugal earlier this year.

"I am extremely happy to bring in such a young and talented driver like Rafael Camara. There is no need to recap his achievements in the junior categories, which are truly impressive. Right from his debut season in Formula 2, he has shown remarkable pace in some extremely difficult conditions, such as qualifying in Monaco and Montreal. All of this speaks volumes about Rafa's potential. "During the Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) in Portugal, he proved he could excel despite having limited track time to get familiar with the car. He showed not only outright speed, but so much more. Rafa managed to create the right conditions to get the absolute maximum out of himself, which was exceptionally impressive. The laps he put together were truly remarkable. "Everyone in the team is thrilled by this opportunity, and we are fully committed to nurturing his talent. We want to provide him with the best possible foundation to unlock his potential. Our goal is to create an environment where he feels comfortable and gets the support he needs to perform at the highest level," Komatsu commented.
