Gov.Abubakar commiserates with Awolowo family over death

The governor noted that even after the demise of her husband, the deceased became the rallying point for those who shared his political beliefs and ideals.

Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has commiserated with the family of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, over the death of Chief H.I.D Awolowo.

The condolence message is contained in a press release issued by Mr Yakubu Mohammed, his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Monday.

He described the deceased as a “strong pillar of support” for her husband, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, during the struggle for independence and his many subsequent political battles.

He urged her children and relations to keep her memory alive, by borrowing a leaf from her good works.
