In-form Tottenham striker earns first England call-up

In-form Tottenham  striker, Harry Kane has gotten his first England call-up ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifier with Lithuania and a friendly with Italy.

Kane has scored 26 goals for Tottenham this season and England’s head coach Roy Hodgson could not ignore him any longer.

"The whole country is excited to see Harry Kane, his rise has been fantastic," Roy said.

"He has broken in to the Tottenham team and it would be a surprise if he was not selected.

"We welcome him into the fold. Some have gone on to really establish themselves.

"He deserves his chance. We are happy he is going to be with us," Roy said about the striker.

Harry Kane took to Twitter to express his excitement over his first England call-up.

"Huge honour to be called up to the England squad! Very proud day for me and my family! Thank you all for the kind messages! #England," the Tottenham striker tweeted.
