Lewis Hamilton has lavished praise on Fernando Alonso, stating that the Spaniard possesses far more raw talent than several drivers currently at the front of the Formula 1 grid, though Aston Martin's ongoing struggles prevent him from showing it.

"There are plenty of drivers up front who can't match Fernando in terms of pure talent. He just isn't able to showcase it at the moment," said the seven-time world champion regarding his former McLaren teammate.

Hamilton's comments follow Alonso's decision to commit to Formula 1 through 2027, marking what will be his 24th season in the world championship since debuting in 2001. The two-time champion will remain with Aston Martin, the team he has now represented for four years.
