The final funeral rites for the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba, mother of President John Dramani Mahama, has been held in Accra.

The late Hajia Abiba Nnaba, died on June 14, 2016, in Accra, and the remains were airlifted to Busunu for burial in line with Islamic tenets.

Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and his wife, Matilda, former Presidents Rawlings and Kufuor, Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, former First Lady Ernestina Naadu Mills attended the final funeral rites.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, past and serving heads of the Security Services, flagbearers and leadership of the political parties, the Clergy, traditional authorities, the Diplomatic Corps and a cross-section of the public attended the funeral to commiserate with the President and his siblings.

She died at age 85.
