Norway's prolific striker, Erling Haaland, believes his national team ranks among the best in Europe and the world, despite this being their first World Cup appearance since 1998. Last night, the "Vikings" defeated Brazil 2-1 in the World Cup Round of 16, with the Manchester City forward netting both goals. Overall, he boasts seven goals and one assist in five tournament matches.
"I think the way we played in this match shows that Norway is a fantastic team and that we truly are one of the best teams in Europe and the world, because we've achieved incredible results. It took us 28 years. I'm 25, so you can't blame me for that. You can blame me for coming here, but I want to say it's incredible. I'm proud of my country, I'm proud of everyone," Haaland stated after the game.
Norway has reached the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time in its history. In this stage, the Norwegians are set to face England on the night of July 11th-12th.
