"For everyone at Manchester City and for all our fans, this is a wonderful moment that will stay with us for a long time. It was tough, it was hard, but we showed incredible character from back to front. I'm so proud of everyone. It's always difficult coming here, the statistics prove it. In the Pep and Klopp era, it has always been demanding for both sides. It's crucial to stay strong mentally, stick together, and focus on what we can control—which is playing good football and fighting as one. That's the only thing we can do," Haaland said.

The Norwegian also reserved special praise for teammate Elliot Anderson.

"When talking about character while playing with 10 men at Old Trafford, the first person that came to mind was Elliot. Today he took control of the match again. He got stuck into challenges and did what had to be done. He's a fantastic player," the striker added.

Reflecting on his goal in the clash, he explained: "I missed a big chance just before that, so I just had to focus on getting the next opportunity. The moment arrived, and I took it. I'm proud to have three goals at Anfield now, because that doesn't happen very often."

He also commented on his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, being in attendance in the stands.

"I didn't see him, I was looking around for him. Honestly, it looked like our fans were having the time of their lives, just like last year. I think he enjoyed it too, so I'll drop him a text now," the Norwegian added.

"We just want to win games, it's that simple. Perform well, play good football, and win. It was a mental battle—it's never easy when returning from an international break. I'm proud of how we stayed united; we are very strong mentally. There are plenty of games ahead, so it's time to recover and push forward," the City forward concluded.
