Guardiola: We Must Win Every Single Game

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that his team has lacked consistency this season, but from now until the end of the campaign, they must win every match to remain in the title race. The "Citizens" currently trail leaders Arsenal by a significant nine points, though they do have a game in hand. Tomorrow, they face a challenging away fixture against Chelsea in London.

"I hope we can accumulate a lot of points by the end of the season. Our current position in the Premier League demands that we secure every possible point. Otherwise, we won't be able to compete until the very end. We haven't been consistent enough this season. We dropped points we could have taken, and because of that, we are now in a position where we cannot afford any mistakes. We have to win every single game," the Catalan coach declared.

Pep Guardiola is keen for Bernardo Silva to remain with the squad but will need to speak with him to understand the Portuguese international's plans. Speculation has intensified recently that Silva has already informed the club's management of his intention to leave in the summer. Similar claims about Bernardo Silva have surfaced in the past two summer transfer windows, yet he remains at the Etihad.

"Bernardo Silva has been a fantastic signing for us. He's not the tallest, not the most muscular, he doesn't score 50 goals or provide 50 assists, and those are the players who often grab the headlines. But I've known him for nine years, and he is everything a manager could ask for. All coaches would say how much they love him because he's an incredible player, always with a fire in him. In the toughest moments and the most complex situations, he's always there. I've said many times that in big games, it's not about playing well or badly, but about being yourself and not being afraid. He possesses exactly that, and it's been true since his first day here. I would very much like him to stay and finish his career here, but I will have to speak with him," the manager explained.

Guardiola concluded his media appearance with a brief update on his team's injured players.

"Rúben Dias is improving, but he won't be ready for Sunday's match. John Stones might be; he'll probably participate in part of training today, and we'll see. Mateo Kovačić is doing well. Joško Gvardiol is also improving, but he's not close to returning yet," the manager shared.
