Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has stated that neither he nor the club would stand in Rodri's way if the midfielder wished to transfer to Real Madrid.

The Catalan coach emphasized that he would not follow the example of Chelsea manager, Liam Rosenior, who disciplined one of his players for not ruling out a move to the "Merengues."

Rosenior revealed on Friday that Enzo Fernandez would miss Chelsea's next two games, as the Argentine midfielder "crossed the line" with comments made during the international break regarding a potential move to Madrid.

Rodri made similar statements, saying that "you can't rule out the top teams in the world," when asked in an interview in Spain about the possibility of playing for Real Madrid.

However, Guardiola clarified that Rodri would remain available for City and fully understands the allure of the "Merengues."

"There isn't a single player who would turn down the chance to play for Real, he was born in Spain," he stated.

"My wish is always for Rodri to stay at this club for as long as possible, because he is an incredible, top player, but everyone's life is their own business."

"The club's organization is above all of us. If a player is not happy, they must leave. If they are happy, they stay, and I think he is happy," he added.

"If he's not happy, he just knocks on the sporting director's door, we accept an offer commensurate with his incredible quality, and then he no longer belongs to the club, but only to himself."
